Day-wise Itinerary
Arrive at Kumarakom. Check in to lakeside resort. Evening welcome ceremony with traditional lamp lighting. Ayurvedic physician consultation for personalised wellness programme. Sunset boat ride on Vembanad Lake with traditional Kerala snacks and tender coconut.
Early morning guided birdwatching walk through Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary (over 40 species documented). Return for a full morning Panchakarma Ayurveda session: Abhyanga (oil massage), Shirodhara (oil forehead pour), and Navarakizhi (rice bundle therapy). Afternoon cooking class for traditional Kerala Sadya. Yoga and meditation at sunset.
Morning shikara canoe ride through the narrow village canals of Kumarakom — experience life along the backwaters up close. Visit a coir weaving unit and watch women weaving mats and baskets from coconut husk fibre. Afternoon excursion to Kottayam — visit Valiapalli and Cheriapalli Syrian Christian churches (400 years old) with fascinating inscriptions.
